Meet Manny

Manny’s story almost ended before it truly began.

Our founder first saw him in a Facebook post from a city kill shelter. At the time, his name was Rory. Something about him made it impossible to keep scrolling, so he immediately drove to the shelter to bring him home.

When he arrived, the staff explained that Rory had already been adopted and returned several times. None of that mattered.

“I want him,” he said.

That was when the staff ran across the street. Rory had already been sedated and was being prepared for euthanasia.

They asked, “Would you like to try him out first?”

The answer was immediate:

“No. He won’t be coming back. I am his forever home.”

Rory left the shelter that day with more than a second chance. He left with a family, a future, and a new name: Manchester — in honor of Manchester United — or Manny for short.

According to his records, Manny was born on September 3, 2024. He found his forever home just before his first birthday, and he has been making the most of every moment since.

Today, Manny is surrounded by a family that loves him completely — his forever dad, his two sisters, and an incredible extended family and circle of friends who visit, play with him, and make sure he always feels loved. They aren’t simply the people who care for him; they are his people. His family. His home.

Manny is full of energy, personality, curiosity, and pure joy. He loves being alive, spending time with his family, exploring new places, and going everywhere he possibly can with his dad. Every walk, car ride, family visit, new adventure, and new friend is another reminder that his life was always worth saving.

Manny’s journey is at the heart of everything we’re building. His story is about second chances, unconditional commitment, the love of family, and finding joy in the adventure — even when the road there wasn’t easy.

He was once returned again and again.

Now, he has a forever dad, two loving sisters, an extended family, and a circle of friends who will never give up on him.

He is home forever. And their adventure is only beginning.
